February 2012 Soul of the Pee Dee - in honor of Black History Month Deadline for participation: Thursday, January 26 Accepting all mediums, all ages Comes in - Sunday, January 29, Monday, January 30, Tuesday, January 31 4 p.m.—7 p.m. Details: 1. All ages are accepted to participate in this exhibit. 2. Works must be produced by African American artists or they must be works that are about African Americans. 3. All mediums are accepted. Paintings and 2-D works must be ready to hang. The Gallery has hooks but you need to have wire on the back of the pictures. 3-D pieces? You must supply your own table or pedestal. The Gallery has some but we cannot guarantee they will be available. 4. Pieces may be for exhibit only or you have them available for purchase. 5. Each piece must have an identifying card attached to it plus one that is visible to the public. The identifying card must state your name, contact information, name of the piece, medium, price of a statement that it is not for sale. NOTE: If the artist is under the age of 18, ONLY the contact information for the PARENT is allowed on the card. Use non-stick tape to attach your identifying information to our walls or pedestals. 6. If a piece sells, the Gallery requests a commission of 15%. The price shown must already include sales tax. 7. Items must be picked up on schedule or in advance. Items left past the pick-up date may be considered abandoned and will be sold with proceeds going to support the Gallery. We do our best to accommodate individual schedules BUT you must contact us at least 5 days in advance. E-mail Jane Madden—janemadden@bellsouth.net or phone—843-6873-0729. 8. Signs, business cards, or brochures about your work are encouraged. 9. We reserve the right to refuse works that in our judgment do not mesh with the Gallery’s approach. 10. We are all volunteer. We ask each artist to contribute to the support of the Gallery in some way. You may volunteer, you may bring something from our list to the opening, or you may provide a small monetary donation. 11. You must sign a hold blameless form when you bring your items for hanging in the Gallery. We ask that you also read the hold blameless form here. It also works as the participation form. 12.
