Sculpture Classes with Alex Palkovich

The Art Trail Gallery has sculpture classes available Monday afternoons and Monday evenings with Alex Palkovich. Classes are kept small to provide for individual attention. A sign-up sheet is available at the Gallery.

 

Fiber Arts Classes and Demonstrations

Classes and demonstrations for Fiber Arts are free but a donation would be a wonderful way to say “thank you”! The Art Trail Gallery is an all-volunteer effort and donations help us continue to bring you new exhibits and experiences! No donation is too small!!

Saturday, March 6th

Spinning Demonstration

MJ Martin: Talented weaver and spinner from Cheraw will spend the afternoon (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) demonstrating spinning on a spinning wheel!

Pine Needle Basket Demonstration

Patti Whiteside: Patti is a multi-talented artist from Johnsonville who does amazing pine needle baskets among other creative endeavors. She will be demonstrating how to make pine needle baskets while MJ demonstrates spinning.

Surface Transformation or What to do with your stash of ugly cloth

Ever wonder what you might do with all the fabric you once thought was such a find? How about some surface transformation techniques? Paint and cloth will be supplied. Come prepared to work outside! Numbers are limited. You must sign-up in advance. Class will begin at 2:30 p.m. and last approximately 1 hour.

Class 1: Learn to Crochet with Missy Davis Jones!

Missy has an endless supply of creativity and loves to crochet. She’s going to introduce you to the basics of crochet. This class will be approximately 1 hour. There will be a total of 2 classes. The first class will be Saturday, March 20th and the second class will be Saturday, March 27th. The Gallery has yarn and crochet hooks to lend you! Numbers are limited so you must sign-up in advance.

Deconstructed Tee-Shirts!

Aimed at the teenager with the urge to experiment with fashion, this class will show you how to do a simple transformation of a tee-shirt that you will bring with you. (Some additional materials such as scissors may be necessary to bring with you. Once you are in the class, we will update you.) Be prepared to leave with that shirt looking completely different! Missy Davis Jones, professional tee-shirt designer, will lead the way to a new experience in fashion design. Numbers are limited. The class will be approximately 2 hours. You must sign-up in advance. This class will begin at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 27th 1:30 p.m.—3:00 p.m.

Class 2: This is the second half of the Learn to Crochet class.

You’ll complete your scarf and add embellishments.  This class will be 1 to 1 ½ hours beginning at 1:30 p.m.
